An abandoned dog waits patiently at the front door for her owner to come home from the hospital. Leia was always an independent pet who valued each member of the family. Unexpectedly, it was discovered that Leia’s relationship with her father is the strongest.
Shortly after her parents’ 40th wedding anniversary, Katie’s father received a cancer diagnosis. The man was taken to the hospital and kept there for many days. When Katie’s mother arrived home from the hospital, she was alarmed to see Leia seemingly abandoned.
She waited patiently for “dad” to come back besides the door with her head bowed.
