A man leaps into the icy water to save a sobbing dog from drowning.

At Ellicott Creek Dog Park, Don Chatten was walking his two rescue dogs when one of them stopped in front of the bridge, peering at him oddly and refusing to go any farther. Don decided to go along with it. Soon after, he faintly heard weeping coming from the brook.

Don went to see if he could find the lost dog after learning that he had been reported in the area. In truth, he did come upon a dog that was surrounded by frigid water on all sides.

The small puppy would probably have passed away by the time help arrived, so Don asked the park’s passing visitors to contact 911. As a result, he had to take rapid action.

Don chose to save the dog without a second thought. He broke through the ice during the rescue operation with his forearm and dove waist-deep into the chilly sea. The dog was then kept close to his chest as he hurriedly made his way back to the shore. The dog, named Jackson, was a Terrier mix. As soon as the couple exited the water, the dog hurried to the vet to make sure everything was okay.

Veterans claimed Jackson was still among them because of Don’s bravery and fast thinking. The dog’s owner was ecstatic to see his little family member once more. Locals applaud Don for his courage. He claims the dog was entirely to blame because it was the dog who cried out for help when he sensed danger.
